OT: WHITE Christmas in No. GA!!!

Mele Kalikimaka everyone :-) -- having an absolutely lovely WHITE Christmas here in north Georgia! Not sure how much snow has fallen -- several inches at the very least -- but it started snowing about 11:00 AM and didn't stop until about 8:00 PM! The "kids" have really enjoyed it, as have DH and I. Raechel (the SMDGD) has been outside more than she's been inside -- playing in the snow, making snowballs and throwing them at everything. They have had a few white Christmases when at the EMIL's house before driving back to the city but not a whole day's worth. I think DH and I have experienced one while at DD's EMIL before driving back to the valley in the very early morning so THIS is a real treat for MOI. Having DD and the family here has been a wonderful treat for MOI but adding the snow -- well, that was just icing on the cake. Then we got to Skype my DSis and her family so that was even better. What could be a better gift than to have spent a white Christmas together with my family friends??? The only thing better would be world peace but I won't hold my breath for that! Hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas or Happy Chanukkah Hogs and Quiches to all of you & CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Now Sheena, SMILE when you think that at MOI -- LOL! If I *could* keep it here for a bit I would. Unfortunately, control of the world's weather is one super power I don't have just yet -- I'll work on that. Sorry but you DO live "way up north where the air gets cold". Hope you had a Happy ....... . CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Mary my dear, could you just keep it there another 12 hours. I want to go visit my Mon, sister and BIL today, but we're on the side of staying home. There is no way I want to get stranded on the way home from the Cape (aka Cape Cod) by a blizzard.....

Well, it's not snowing any longer but it **IS** cold for No. GA! Currently it's about 27F which is about 10 degrees colder than the norm, I think. I'm willing to keep the cold as long as possible, even snow, too but not I'm not sure what the weather gods will think of that -- LOL! This weather gives me a chance to actually use the long down coat I bought about 8 years ago. Hope you make it to the Cape and back with a minimum of weather. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Great to hear that everyone had a good Christmas. No snow here, but it is expected to go below freezing tonight. That's peculiar weather for Florida.

Cold, cold, cold in So. Georgia as well - somewhere in the 30's, but no snow of course. And instead of enjoying a quiet week of movies, needlework, and puttering around the house while DS is at the Toad's house (ex-DH), I just HAD to catch a cold Christmas day. Boo-hoo! So instead, I'm hunkered down with tissue, cough drops, dayquil, and Netflix....

Hope your Christmas was amazing, and that the New Year is filled with many blessings!

My stepdaughter, who lives north of Jacksonville, just south of FL/GA line said she saw snow flurries this morning!

Here in western NC, we had 6". Heaviest Christmas snowfall since

1947, and the first since 1998. Managed to get my curtains for the workroom finished, shovelled my driveway and my neighbors (she can't anymore), and took a nice long nap. And since I'm on vacation until the 2nd..... bliss.

If TM could have kept it south for a few more hours, it would make sure you could get to and from your party! LOL

Looks like I shall be lucky - at 4 a.m. it was high winds and driven snow - now at 9:30 it is high winds and driven rain - so by this evening, who knows but so long as the pavement is bare, we'll go!

We were lucky, ours turned to rain and I was able to get there and back safely. No tables were harmed in the effort of my having a good time at the party lol I feel somewhat delicate today, but made it out to lunch with some other friends just the same.

Here's hoping our weather, and yours too, settles down and becomes more predictable in 2011
