Getting something accomplished! (oops got mostly OT somehow)

Since the weather has not been very pleasant to deal with here for the last couple weeks, I have been inside sorting and bagging and tossing. I have even been mailing. Yes, I am brave enough to venture out in these coldish temperatures to hit the post office on occasion. (venturing out means: long woolen underwear, t-shirt, regular shirt, sweatshirt, wool socks, boots, mittens, toque, heavy coat, scarf and a prayer that the vehicle don't break down!)

Our temperatures have been sitting at a balmy -15C ( 5F ) for the last 2 days and people are just insane! No more bundling up!! You can actually head outside with a hoodie and a pair of thin gloves! and most folks don't even use gloves!

We just went through a coldish snap here of -38C with a wind bringing us down to -52C (conversion = -35F and -62F in the wind) with a TON of snow.

What is sitting on the ground now is just over 4 feet of snow, what has fallen is over 5 feet now since the end of October, most of it hitting us in a matter of 5 days. Snow piles here sometimes top 20 feet tall or more, our hills on the sides of our driveway just from our own shoveling are almost 6 feet high! LOL It snows just enough every day that one must shovel the walks and driveways daily. (good exercise but....... there has GOT to be a better way to get some exercise !! LOL)

Anyway, back to my accomplishing stuff, I can now get to my sewing area, I can now see what I have to work with, I can now see what needs to be finished and what can wait, and I can now start on my Christmas placemats and table runners I was planning on making for my sons girlfriend and my sister in law and my mom! I don't even need to go out and buy anything, I have more than enough supplies here to do them. Now, its a matter of time.

I am a very very very overactive volunteer for our local Air Cadet squadron and it seems to eat more time than any thing I have ever been involved in! I love it though. I wont give it up. I just have to learn to hand piece now so I can take it with me!

Nothing over the long woolen underwear? snipped lots of cold stuff---

There should be a share system. We are still having record high temps. Resisting the urge to turn on the AC again. Can't work outside.

Ummmm, KK, I didn't see "pants" anywhere in that list.

And this: "You can actually head outside with a hoodie and a pair of thin gloves! "

See, right there might be part of your problem. You aren't wearing clothes.

Don't freeze your tutu off.

Before you begin the Christmas placemats gift, Fail Not! to pre-wash. I've only kept two sets. The ones I made 20 years ago are still bright and lovely. The ones that are only 2 years old are already dreary from fading fabric. I am not a member of the pre-wash corps but you'd better do it this time even if you don't usually. Trust me. Polly
