Dear Mirjam, I think Karen was just voicing her wishes that Marissa will be getting well with all the prayers, good wishes and mail and email she will receive, in an upbeat way. Having watched the caring manner in which this very large group works with prayers and good wishes, I am sure they will be just as busy with letters and cards. It *is* just an expression; she could also have said "until she gets writer's cramp when she gets well" but to me, the getting well part was certainly implied.

For once I tend to agree with Mirjam - we KNOW it was meant kindly, but under the circumstances it was a rather unfortunate way of putting it! Another case of "Engage brain before opening mouth". Being a service person, I bert that Marissa herself would probably see the funny side of it later, if not now!
