PING: The Karen

Yo Karen -- had major computer problems and now I can't find the proper version of Netscape. Could you please e-mail me so I can pick your brain about how to get back to where I am supposed to be? Thanks & CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I haven't changed my name to Karen (although it is a very nice name) but if you're looking for an older version of Netscape (well, they're ALL old) try here:

really love the Old Version website and have used it many times. It's safe to download stuff from there. Hope this helps! Becky A.

My name is not Karen but does aol allow you to use datemas.de or motzarella.org ? Both excellent, modern usenet readers, free.

I FINALLY got stuff sorted out. AOHell *might* let me use that stuff but, as I earnestly despise having to learn new stuff on the 'puter, I haven't bothered to fins out. I have been set up with News.Individual.NET and Netscape ever since AOL stopped offereing newsgroup coverage. I know how to get to the stuff I want and DO NOT want to have to learn something new. It's bad enough that DH installed AOL 9.1 and I have to find where stuff is since the screen is different. I certainly don't want to tax my brain with having to learn any new stuff so that I can read the newsgroups. I know, change is good, I just prefer to have my change somewhere NOT related to computer stuff -- LOL! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I think you will find that Thunderbird is just (or nearly so) like the old Netscape . . . so you won't have a learning curve. I switched several years ago and have been quite happy. And like Netscape . . . it's free.

Has anyone else been using SeaMonkey? I've been using it for a couple of years now and it's great!

That's what I use since Netscape 'went away' on my machine. No idea why, just one day Netscape wouldn't open. SeaMonkey is a Mozilla based browser like Netscape, and once I downloaded it, all my settings, saved messages etc.(from Netscape) appeared without my having to do anything.
