Yes, I worried about the long term consequences of stomach acid, too. Since I'm making this for my unborn baby and I want it to be perfect, I decided to buy all new and frog the few dozen stitches already done with the old skein and start them over. Miss Chloe is infamous for christening anything new in this house. This'll teach me to leave my floss out unattended!
