I know that a friend of mine in America got five kittens a year or so ago, as Barn cats, in the hopes that they`d keep down the pests on her land. Unfortunately they all disappeared, one by one, and she`s pretty sure that coyotes got them, as she hears them (coyotes) around quite often. I suggested that she got a mother cat with kittens who would, hopefully, be taught about survival by the mother. Thankfully this certainly seems to have worked as she still has all of them, now full grown and living a rather pampered life for "Barn cats"!!! They`re doing a good job, too.
