Stitching Stupidity

That would be me.... I was moving my Gazelle into position and knocked over a full glass of water... not too bad, yet...

In trying to get the stand out of the way and quickly clean up the spill I knock the stand over. My favorite ghinghers (spelling?) were hanging on the stand and the stand lands on the scissors and now they are bent and useless.

On the bright side it is better than splilling a glass of red wine on a WIP....

I would wonder if Gingher would be willing to repair or replace them. I once dropped a Cross fountain pen on its nib. Sent it to Cross for repair and they sent me a new pen.

I just checked my Gingher scissors info (I was given a pair for Christmas) and they do offer a repair service. They have a toll-free phone number: 1-800-446-4437. It will be an easier fix than red wine on a WIP!

Doesn't cost anything to e-mail or call the 800 number and ask.

15 years ago, I had a mouse nibble on my favorite shirt. Lands End not only replaced it, but sent me a small check because the computer told them that the price I'd paid originally was more than the current price! Cost them a few bucks. Bought them 15 years of me bragging on their customer service.

So, Richard, I would definitely let on that you are active in an online stitching group where 3000 avid stitchers will hear about it if they give you good customer service and this will make those of us who've been dithering over the price of Ginghers stop dithering.
