Tambour Embroidery

The April issue of our e-zine is featuring tambour embroidery. I had NO IDEA what you could do, other than chain stitch. About 7 or 8 years ago I invested in a hook and a tambour frame. Well, I plundered away like the clutz I frequently am, and gave up, since I didn't have any good directions in any book I had on hand. Couldn't figure out how to begin and end threads, or how to keep turning the frame to create a motif. I mean, they call it a tambour frame, but it was like trying to stand on your head with both hands juggling six balls.

I met a designer way back when and she recently contacted me. Thus the article. I know that most of you don't subscribe, so I wanted to share her website so you can see the glorious work and to see what "other" things you might want to get interested in besides whatever it is you are currently doing. I guess that means I'm trying to "enable" more of you. :-)

- who finally managed to work satin stitch with a tambour hook. Rather clumsy satin stitch, but managed to actually get the hook to work.
