Up for Grabs

I have 4 "installments" of Brightneedle's "Where in the World of Mary Kirby" cross-stitch series to give away. They are France, Austria, New Zealand and Wisconsin. Packages have never been opened, so includes passport pages and charms. I had hoped my daughter would want to stitch the series, but she's more into learning to knit and doing her latch-hook rug and prefers to choose things for me to stitch for her instead! Isn't it funny how our kids tend to pick the crafts we don't do as much ourselves?

Yes, I know what you mean. When she was younger, she loved to help pull or push the needle as I stitched and wanted to learn, but now that she's nearly 12, she's doing her own thing. I think it's partly a competitive thing (I don't knit so therefore she is already better than me!) and partly forging her own identity. That's okay. When she's older, I can trade her a cross-stitched item for a hand-knitted sweater!
