Re: Those Cartoons
From the above cited article: "The same is true of Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Mormons: They don't lash out in violence when their religious sensibilities are offended."
Hard to take someone seriously when their opening premises are this far off base. Plenty of religious violence and blame to go around. More's the pity.
Elizabeth (in Yugoslavia, Muslims were the victims, remember?)
In Yugoslavia , all were victims,,,, all were attacking The mass raping that went around there was the cause that `finnaly` after generations , rape has become ` A crime of war ` mirjam
This is ridicolous , while 5 of my fiberart works participate in an exhibition where Arab and Jewish women exhibit together showing our common threads, to enhance understanding. i read here this incitive declaration. If you do not Comprehend the Enormity of the insult, at least be quiet. mirjam
Karen would you like me to send you a trilanguage invitation to the exhibition in Um-El -Fahem , of course if getting an envelope with Arabic,Hebrew and English letters won`t insult you ? mirjam
What is most insulting to me is that ANY human being would threaten or kill another human being over a cartoon. I will not be quiet.
Now, that's about the most ironic declaration I've seen all year: Mirjam telling someone else that they shouldn't speak out about something they see as injust.
Exactly.
Elizabeth
I hoped it will not come to such answers, but over the last generations many people killed and tormented Jews as a result of wall paintings and `cartoons` where non Jews pictured us `unkindly` . mirjam
And neither are the majority of Muslims over here who have just demonstrated peacefully that they feel like you do about the ones who make the threats.
Pat P
And what exactly is this injust ??? is it just to offendd and insult people`s religious feelings?? Ironic is that i do feel the Islamic Insult and at the same time Teheran Leaders are threatening my life [ not yours] and opened an exhibition with Anti-Semitic `cartoons` , and still i think the Danish paper was wrong in publishing those cartoons. mirjam
