Yeah, we're here, think it mostly dumped on Toranna, Montreal and NB. We had an open day yesterday and pretty pleasant today as well, I can take it lol

Someone on my local group who is now out in Ft McMurray posted and crowed about how it was +9 there and we all gave him hell for thinking we had snow lol It was +5 yesterday.

I don't know about Sheena, but we got the storm on Saturday and Sunday. Ottawa got more than 50 cm (20 inches) almost setting a new record.I estimate that we got about 30 cm, plus what drifted in the gusty winds.

It took my DH the better part of Sunday to dig out our driveway. The plow had left a four foot berm at the end of the driveway. He started at

Based on past experiences, we'll pay for it - while the rest of the country is basking in warmth we'll probably have a snowstorm in the middle of June or something. So he shouldn't get too cocky.

Ouch. I thought when you live in serious snow country these days you're supposed to avail yourself of the modern snow-blower? We've had so little snow this winter that we're totally spoiled. Though, during the snow and ice days, the plow pushed a small (under 2') berm up on our driveway apron, and DH decided to just drive over it. Both cars are 4-wheel drive. Problem being, he wasn't in the high clearance truck - nope - in the little, teeny, low to the ground Audi TT. Smashed the front bumper/air-dam right up. Seems there was some ice in that berm. Hope your DH is getting over the aches and pains.

Well, sounds like a good plan. I always love in the movie Mystery, Alaska, where the town folk are skating down the sidewalks - so much easier than walking in the snow.

Well, we moved at the beginning of December, and our old house only had a single drive. Plus there has been relatively little snow the last five years or so. Even the oldtimers here in the County are saying it's the most snow they've seen in years and years.

I suspect that next year there may, indeed, be a snowblower in the garage. :) Right now, even if we wanted to buy one, there are none available - even shovels are in short supply.

I just got back from my errands, and it is a loverly day - bright, sunny and much milder.

Thank, he is, but very slowly. When he got up after supper last night, he had to do it very slowly.

I've had to shovel out the berm that the town plow left a few times this winter. Our plow guy passed away right after the holidays and his family honored his commitments for the season. His son and/or grandson would come out from upstate NY or northern NH and plow, but usually before the town was out. Talk about an all around PITA. Replacing him is going to be hard. Most operations charge about $60 per visit and he'd charge $30 a storm and cleaned out the mail box too.
