What have you done to get time to scrap?

Lynne's post got me thinking. All this time I have complained "If I only didn't have so much...housework, schoolwork, yardwork, pets, kids...you name it. Today I have had the day to myself. DH and the boys are on the boat fishing and I am here alone and have only finished ONE page! UGH! I had to do some housework, I had cramps so I took a nap for a while, and here I am taking a break from the page I am working on. Oh and I absolutely refuse to fold the laundry until tonight. LOL Okay the only reason I am home today is because it is that visit of the month and being on a boat with no running water or loo is not a pleasant thought right now. I am now feeling like I am playing hooky from "doing" to have time to myself to scrap. It is the guilt that is setting in, but hmm...this time alone isn't so bad, I may have to do this more often. Has anyone here played "hooky" to get time to scrap? Just curious. Jacqui

I can't say that I have ever played hookey to have time to scrap. What I have found that has helped me big bunches is on Sunday's very seldomly do DH and I go out we stay home and have a lazy day so during the week and Saturday we get all the housework and running around done. I now try to use Sunday's to scrapbook. I don't scrap every Sunday I would love to but I don't have a space currently just for my stuff so at times I don't feel like pulling everything out and then having to put it all back. What has helped me I have a lot of pictures on CD saved I print out a contact sheet of the CD it gives you a small size copy of the picture. So during the week or what ever I go through pick out my pictures try to come out with an idea if haven't already and put the page kit together so Sunday comes I'm all set. I have a little note book that I sketch my page layout on and I tape (cheap $1.00 tape) the picture to the spot I want it to go. This has been a big help.

I scrap/play between doing laundry and house work. I'll work around the house for a bit then sit down at my desk and work. Then when my knee hurts so bad I can't think (that takes all of 10-15 mins.) I get up and work a bit. I have actually been able to get alot accomplished this way, and I don't feel guilty. Though I have burned a thing or two one the grill/stove! LOL
