The 13th Annual Collectors' Conference will be held May 24 through May 28 at Mount Saint Mary's College in Los Angeles. In addition to seminars on a number of collectibles (including pottery), Robert Maxwell will be appearing and throwing on Friday and Saturday. Mr. Maxwell is a master potter famous for his "beasties" and will give a live pottery demonstration as part of his seminar on Mid-century Retro Pottery. Mr. Maxwell has also created a limited edition "beastie" especially for the conference.
There are also seminars geared toward the beginning collector (of any type) as well as seminars geared toward individuals who buy and sell at estates and auctions or on ebay.
The rates for the conference are very affordable--$70 gets you in for all 5 days! Rooms are available at an additional charge. (The rates for the conference are scheduled to go up on May 12th, but I have been authorized to offer tickets at the reduced price for individuals who contact me personally.)
