That is a wonderful article, but is mostly for mechanical machines. (Note the date of the article.) If you have a computerized or electronic (as opposed to electric) machine, there are a lot of things that you no longer can do on your own without voiding warranties. sigh. and some machines are almost impossible to "get into" without special tools.

However, if there are plain ordinary screws that you can easily access, then you should be able to without problems. Been there, done that on a whole lot of different machines.

Way cool! Thanks. I just added this to a newly established favorites file, 'Sewing Machines.' Although some repairs are not feasible on computerized SM, as Pati mentions, the site has very good trouble shooting pointers. Theses include topics such as needle thread breaking. It will be a valuable resource for those times when gremlins are playing with the SM! Operator error? Never!! ;) PAT in VA/USA
