all free fabric taken for now

If anyone is feeling lonely just offer this group free fabric and your mail box will fill. I had over 30 responses to the posts I made yesterday offering free fabric. There will probably be enough for everyone. This is really giving me an incentive to organize those shelves. Thanks! I will email you as the packages are sent.

Dear sweet Susan.....

And here I was feeling guilty when I finally got around to unpacking some of my sewing room stuff...open one box and realize, "Oh gosh! I still haven't returned the remainder of this fabric to Susan!" Of course, Billy's old "tractor blankie" is now in shreds and he has asked (quite insistantly, I might add) "Mom, when are you gonna make my new tractor blankie ?!?!?!"

Yes Virginia, mommies do eventually finish children's blankies! The binding on the baby quilt this week, finishing up Janes HUG and then I SWEAR, unpacking or no unpacking, everything else in life can take a back seat to Billy's New Tractor Blankie!

Hugs to you and thanks, again, for sharing your stash! Tina

That story made me laugh. When we visited southern Minnesota from our home in the north of the state, all us kids thought it had rained the night before because the soil was so dark. We hadn't seen rich, black loam in years! My dad used to say that the only things he could grow in northern Minnesota was jackpines and kids.

Thanks for bringing back a memory that made me chuckle.

When the house is all unpacked and life settles down....hopefully by next summer, we will have to take that RV trip John has been itching for! Billy MUST go to the real John Deere one of these days!

I understand the "dirt" completely. It is so awe inspiring to me to travel cross country, on the road, not in the air - and see all the beautiful "dirt" in other places. Heck, even within Texas it is amazing to get away from the Gulf Coast "gumbo" to head north/east to see the RED dirt!

Billy still "collects" but I think at this point, nothing else will do but that I get his "box" out and get that blankie put together. "You know mom, that lady would be mad at you for not putting my blankie together yet!" LOL It really is past due. I just wish I could get him to retire the old one IMMEDIATELY as at the rate it is going, there will be nothing left of it to put in his memory box but a shred of green fabric and a wad of old batting!

And may I point out that I live in the very next city west of Moline!

I believe the other place you are thinking of is Grand Detour IL, it is aobut an hour or so east of here.

Tina - do you need John Deere fabrics? I have leftovers that I could share from a queen size I'm almost done with. Email me, and I'll see what I can do.

Tina,

I have scraps of John Deere fabric if you need any. Two different designs I used in a purse. Let me know if you can use them.
