American Girl Doll question

How large should I make a quilt for an American Girl doll? This isn't going to be anything fancy--just two pieces of fabric with thin batting. I will sew around the outside, birth it and have the little girl help me tie the layers together.

Does anyone own an official American Girl doll bed? What size quilt would it need?

I'm avoiding things I need to be doing so I did a search for you, Susan. At

I found an American Girl doll bed comforter that measures 12 x 19 and a quilt that measures 16 x 20. If you want to be super fast doing the tying, you can do a 'drop and drag' stitch with you SM that will hold the ties in place so all you and the little one have to do is tie bows or knots. Sounds like a happy few hours that the little one will always remember. Polly

The dolls are 18" tall if that helps at all...

Thanks. I think I will head toward the 16" x 20" but if the scrap isn't that large OK. Only have a few hours to get this project together.
