Hi, I have been lurking for a couple of weeks and thought I'dintroduce myself. My name is Launie and I just turned the big 40. Ihave been married to my best friend, Terry for about six years and wehave been together for about ten. We have six kids altogether. Welive in timberland territory in Oregon, near the Columbia River. I ama full time caregiver to my paralyzed husband. He was paralyzed thesummer of 05 during a "stay" at the hospital. It has been quiettramatic, but in all things comes blessings. He is still alive andhas his wits about him. I get to stay home with him and the kids andquilt! I also love to garden during the brief summer months.I have been quilting off and on for about 24 years, mostly makingsimple quilts. I have discovered paper piecing recently and love it.I also discovered during my husband's long stay at the hospital I loveto hand quilt...hate to sew binding on though. lolI am heavily considering purchasing the new Husqarvarna (?) VikingSapphire machine. It has all the functions (minus the cuttingfunction) that I like, including a 10" throat plate. Has anyone usedthis machine or own it? I would love any opinions on the machine youuse. What your likes and dislikes are for that machine.I have pictures uploaded (?) on webshots, but don't know how to linkthem to my signature or what not.Launie, in Oregon

I am busy, but I like it that way. My kids are pretty independent and know what they are supposed to do and just do it. I have one in college (freshman), one in eighth grade, and a second grader living at home right now. My husbands two older boys live with their mom and my middle son lives with his dad. I wish they all lived with us, but it didn't work out that way. Another woulda, coulda, shoulda, didn't!!!! My husband is the only one who is dependent on me for everything and he isn't very demanding, so... I just do things a spare moment here and there. It does take me a while to do things. It's nice to get to know you. And thank you for acknowledging my name. :-) Launie, in Oregon

Thanks Pati! I am so excited about this machine. I went in and talked with one of the clerks where I first saw it. I hadn't considered the location of where I would purchase it, but since I've read your email I will. It was about an hour away and that could pose a challenge for me. I can only go out when my relief person comes and it might be a hassle. I am definetly going to do some research for a dealer closer to home. Launie, in Oregon
