Please send them and I will save them for next year. There is no way we can catch up for 1st place. They are 1600 ahead of us. BUT. . . .

The PTA is going to give the special needs class a party any way -- YEAH!

That's great! Did you tell the PTA that you had a whole newsgroup of quilters ready to come protest the way the contest is set up??? I bet that scared 'em!

Humphf! There we are using Kleenex boxes with no bottoms and they are 1600 ahead of us? Good grief. Congratulations to the winners - and to the PTA for finally showing some good sense . . . or, as Kathyl suggests, "fear". Polly

Thanks. Any I get now I will hold for next year. There is a chance we will have two special needs classes in the building. One Kindergarten and one grade 1-2.

You should have seen these little kiddies explaining to me that they were getting a party and why. It was precious.

Since I know so very little about this, would you mind explaining what the school? your class? library? gets for these points.? And how do you figure how many points you get from each label? Does 10 cents mean 10 points? And what about those that have NO number on them? I sent you one of those and was wondering if it was worth anything at all?

Thanks.

I'm tickled your class WILL get a party.

Howdy!

Of course I'm not Linda but I met her once on the Baseball Swap ; here's what she said a few months ago:

"The small special ed class in my building needs your help again. The larger classes are catching up to them. We need Box Tops for Education. To see products they are on:

back story: There is a competition every year in my school. The small special needs class is always awarded runner up status since they have 1/3 the number of kids as the other classes. Last year the decision was made not to award them this status (and subsequent "party"). This year, I am determined that they actually win."

We BB Swappers pledged to "host" the party for the Special Ed class if need be. Good to see they'll be getting *their* party. Linda's already planning for next year so save those box tops!

The PTA gets 10 cents per boxtop. They are using this to raise funds to rebuilt some playground equipment that was burned down in an act of vandalism. In other years they have used it to bring some cultural arts programs to the school. The boxtops add up very quickly.

Linda,

I apologize that I am very late in reacting to your request but will certainly collect for next year. I noticed on the couple that I did clip just now, that there is an expiration date on the coupons. Does that apply and should I be paying attention to it?
