As I read down this thread, I was hoping this wasn't going to be the news. I didn't have any contact with Carolyn outside of the newsgroup, but I always found her to be cheerful and helpful. She will be missed.

I am sincerely sorry to read this. I never met Carolyn, but enjoyed her friedly, upbeat postings to the newsgroup. She will be missed.

Michelle, I echo what you've said. She was an integral part of this community, and we'll miss her tremendously.

How terribly sad. What an awful loss. I only knew Carolyn from the newsgroup and we didn't correspond privately outside of that, but I will miss her kind and informative posts. She went out of her way to help people and she didn't judge them, regardless of how basic the question or whether it had been asked countless times before. My condolences to Carolynn's family and friends. She has left a permanent legacy through her quilts.

Well, I've been away for about a week, but just now read through this thread. So I now know we have lost a valued and special member of this on line quilting bee. Carolyn's gentle devotion to her mother always impressed me, as did her efforts to rebuild her life later on. Her enthusiasm for quilting was refreshing, as was her friendly personality. I send my warm condolences to you, her son, and all the relatives. Pat in Virginia
