Confession: I am a Fabric Squirrel

HI, I'm usually a fabric squirrel, but today I gave away seven bags of fabric at a stitching group that I'm in. I sorted and organized one of my fabric closets on Saturday and needed to get rid of it. It made more room for the fabrics I had sitting out on a side area in the sewing room. I'm going to go through all my other crafts and supplies and give them away too. I also gave away another bag of quilting magazines. Boy do I feel good.

Just don't stuff it in your cheeks at the LQS before you pay for it. They tend to frown on that.

So, um.....is there a term for those who have fabric stashed where they know it is, but also all over every possible sewing area? I mean, besides quilters/seamstresses??

Pat, I finally have all the bedrooms and bathrooms ( and inside the closets) painted upstairs. I just hired someone to come in later this month and paint the entryway, living room, dinign room , ktichen ( that all have tall, cathedral ceilings) & the upstair's hallway , etc... all an off white ( with a lighter shade for the ceiliings and woodwork. If I can organize and clean up my sewing room/rec room and utility room downstairs, then I'll have painted the whole house inside. I will also have to do the laundry room ceilings and walls. It will talk me a while to reoraganize my other stash/projects closet and reorganize my craft supplies. I want a place for everything & everything in it's place ( just once and for about five minutes). This way I can paint the ceiling, walls and woodwork down there. I might be doing my "winter nesting" , since fall is coming.

I'm VERY like this myself! So much so theat my sis, in for a quick visit this pm, noticed the difference between the tidy half of the room and the messy half where I stopped tidying yesterday! The kitchen is in a similar state: One half immaculate, the other a heap! There's a sort of tide line half way down each room...

Pat, Thanks for your kind words. I've never left the newsgroup & I read all of the messages, but I haven't felt like chiming in a lot. I've been really busy working on two different raffle quilts, organizing the house, my own quilts and the garden. I must still be saving my shoulder and hands for quilting. I am out playing with friends a lot too.

Also every "possible sewing area"? I find it in every room except the kitchen and bathrooms, and maybe I should investigate those.

I posted that message and just now looked at replies. I'm sitting here laughing at everyone's replies. Especially with the mental images I have going of stuffing fabric in my cheeks.
