Fat Quarters Help

I need help making something with 4 Christmas fat quarters. The idea is to use as much of the fat quarters as you can. One fat quarter doesn't really go with the others - it is blue with gold stars and angels - so it could be the back. The others are one green, red & white strips, one green with multi-colored snowmen, and one dark green with red stars and light blue, red, green, and gold candle looking ornaments. Don't you just love my descriptions, lol. Naturally, I have waited until the last minute to do this. I need it done within the next 2-3 days because DH and I are going on a little trip. I want to give it to another guild member to turn in for me. Any suggestions from all the talented people in this group?

How do you get on with triangles? If OK< you could cut the green-based ones into equilateral triangles (do them in a strip for speed); make them into a large equilateral triangle

- like a Christmas tree; and let the blue fabric be the background behind the tree. I'm sure Cheryl showed pictures of a Christmas tree. Could you try 'Christmas tree' and Cheryl in the Archives to see if you could find it? I think it is on the above lines? Can anyone remember exactly? . In message , Sherry Starr writes

Yes, you can add as many as you want. I do have a Yellow Brick Road pattern, and a Turning 20 again pattern. I guess I could use one of those.

Applique Christmas ornaments. Cut the shapes out of the prints with green and use the blue as your background. You can either add ribbon as hanger cord and stagger them in a line across the background as if they are hanging from an unseen rod, or just scatter them over the background willy-nilly. Make a pieced border out of the fabric left after cutting out the applique pieces. Back it with some fabric of your own. Debra in VA See my quilts at

Thanks for all your help. I will probably make either large potholders, trivets, or use 6 fat quarters and make the crib size Yellow Brick Road pattern. I need to get it done this week, because DH & I are going to Santa Fe on March 19th, and it is supposed to be done by March 20th.
