Fleece and flannel throw- Great Christmas Gift

I went to a work shop and made a fleece and flannel throw. What ever size you want buy flannel and some color of matching polar fleece. Wash all to start. Square up your flannel and lay it down on top of your fleece and make sure you cut the fleece about 11/2" bigger all around the size of the flannel. Take your flannel to the ironing board and press it in half good press lines then fold again in quarters and press good. These are going to be your quilting lines. Fold the other way and press. in half then in quarters. Press as many lines or as few as you want because those are going to be where you quilt. Make sure they are really pressed good. Then lay your polar fleece on the table with wrong side up then lay your flannel on top with good side up. center it so you have your 1 1/2" all the way around. Then fold back half of the flannel and spray baste it with spray basting spray. Then fold it over where you sprayed and smooth out all lumps. Then fold back other half and do the same thing. Take it to the machine and quilt it on you crease lines from where you ironed it. You can use any type stitches. Then when that is done all you have to do is fold over the fleece to cover the edge of the flannel this makes your binding. fold corners to miter them. Then take to the sewing machine and sew around edge. You can just sew close to the edge or use a stitch that catches a little of both like a zigzag. I made one in an afternoon, it was fun. The will be great Christmas gifts.

I do the same thing with Toddler size quilt tops and just add fleece instead of batting and backing. Works really well and the kids love them.
