Fussy Cut

Nov 08, 2006 3 Replies

Just trying to get opinions. If you fussy cut for a quilt, I know you have to get extra material. How do you figure out how much extra fabric to get? Or do you just decide you're going to get so much extra fabric (e.g. 1 yard extra).

Thanks

Mary, I do it the easy way: First figure out how many blocks I need, then check the print and count out that number of the parts I want to fussy cut. Next hand it to the cutter and show her where to cut. Let her figure the yardage she has to charge me for. Debra in VA See my quilts at
