I think we've proved that there's no understanding the word ugly. Not on purpose, mind you, but I created an ugly certainly by very unfortunate accident. Nothing went right and I was horrified at how truly terrible it was. My brother loved it. I don't know what part of the family he came from either. This tale gets worse. Everybody that saw it just begged to take it home. I was glad to see it go. Polly

"Carissa" But I sent mine today. Don't die of laughter when you see it lol. j/k it

Maybe he is related to my brother... lol Anyhow if you want to see a sneak peak it is a quilt (much to my horror) on my page linked below. It is the yellow stuff in Mat's Christmas Quilt 2004.... But be warned, they are not stars... they are amoeba or maybe paramecium but definatly not stars lol. My son's blanket died a sad sad death two days before Christmas, and with no open stores in sight I paniced... The backing is flannel santa clauses. Oh well he was happy, its warm and soft, the only two things an 8 yr old could care about in blanket.

Carissa

In my decades of heirloom ruffled elegance and occasional perfect-pointed quilts, there will never be anything to compare with the happiness of an 8 year-old boy. Flannel backing Santa? Yes, I can do that. Thank you for the reminder. Sometimes we lose sight of the goal. Polly

I like the fruit one, but the other two, well I'd say they fit the needed description. By the way, Mom had something in her stash that will work perfectly with your crazy patchwork Sun Bonnet Sue print. It's another crazy patchwork print in orange and tan and sickly red IIRC, but without the Sue. I think the oranges are even the same. I'll have to get a scan of it, if I can, and post it. Now wait a minute - this quilt will be too color coordinated! One of the squares I sent is a brown and orange batik. Sorry, no picture. Liz

Fear not, Liz. This gathering won't have a coordinated bone in its body. Polly
