I'm back!

Phew! That got to be quite a marathon for a while!

I ended up making:

For myself:

3 chemises a pair of stays 2 under petticoats (one to wear over pocket hoops, one for wearing over a bum roll) pocket hoops a bum roll a white linen caraco and black wool satin petticoat a lilac silk and cotton brocade caraco and silk and cotton satin petticoat a linen polonaise and petticoat with embroidered stomacher a sacque gown with matching petticoat a cotton fichu with a lace edge a tricorne hat a massive Gainsborough hat a straw hat

Made for me: a lilac silk fichu a small silk fichu silk pockets

Things I made for someone else: a cream embroidered silk coat a yellow silk waistcoat a pair of yellow silk breeches a pair of blue silk breeches the doctor's gray coat an orange silk petticoat

I had help cutting and draping the petticoats and some of the other garments, but made up for that by helping to cut and drape my partner in crime's stuff. We had a blast! Some of the pics from the event can be seen here:

Su, the lady in the Mme de Pompadour gown and the black, is my new partner in crime.

I did make it to my quilt group on Tuesday, and will, at last, be able to get back to some quilting once the mess from the frockage is tidied up and finally put away!

Kate, I just adore photos of your 'frocks' and the way you make them. You create art. I really can't express how impressed I am and how much pleasure it gives me to look at your photos. Wow.

Oh, that looks lovely!!! So that's where you've been hiding out. Hmm, I'd love to make something like those sacques and stuff, too; really, at last a kind of dress in which a lady of my volume doesn't look ridiculous or grotesque. One day, I might start with making stays... But that day seems a long way off. I didn't get round to anything interesting, just some household sewing (more at a.s., if you care) and not much quilting. Destructo Fairy is sick again; this time her eyes are festering, too. Didn't make it to my sewing class this Wednesday, of course. Anyway, I'm glad that you've been off, having fun instead of being sick or so...

Glad you had a good time, Kate. I was looking forward to some photos. Hope the fibro is settling down again.

Talk to you soon. Get Alan to sort that Skype connection soon heh?

Thank you. They were a HUGE amount of fun to do, and the game was lovely. But I have collapsed in a heap these last few days. I think maybe we did a leeeetle too much at the last minute!

It will come! And the frocks and the whole game were a great deal of fun. The black hat with the white feathers caused a bit of a stir. :D

All sewing is good! When I get the sewing room soeted out, I'll be looking forward to doing some quilting. I have a top or three that need completing and a few blocks to put together...

Thank you. One of the great things to come out of the last year is finding a sewing soul-mate at last! We are now in cahoots for the sewing: between us we get more done that we can apart! The boring stuff and the fabric shifting are far quicker.

Oh my goodness, Kate! How I wish I could have been there. I'd even be willing to make the tea and sweep the floors; thread needles, feed QIs - anything just to be a part of such a production. Polly
