I'm amazed. My room is usually in disarray and in need of tidying, but with that much stuff on every surface, I'm not sure how you'd be able to work.

She does have a lot of fabric though. Sure could be a fun stash to rootle through.

euuwwwww.... I sure hope that was a brown fabric scrap on the floor..... looks kinda like a pet's "uh-oh" mess. Other than that, it makes me proud of my only mildly piled up sewing space.

That is a pretty yucky space. Most of the fabric looks just old and gross. Not old enough to be cool but too old to be current. I don't imagine there is much productivity coming out of that space. (especially since g'ma is dead!) I'd rather an empty clean room and start collecting my own fabric. That Singer is a 403. Pretty cool machine that probably works ok. Sometimes inheriting 'stuff' is no bonus IMO. Taria

Actually, most of the fabric looks like good garment basics. The Viking/Husqvarna machine looks like the one that I "lost" makes me really miss her. :( A lot of the patterns look pretty old, but then again, some of the "new" styles are almost identical to patterns I had/have from the late '50s to '70s.

And, I have to say that looks fairly organized, just a lot more "stuff" than there is room for. And I know that one very well. need to get in to my rooms and sort and find and see what I want to live without.

Yeah, it was the camera woman's grandmother's stash from clothing construction. It appears the gal filming is into costume making...I had to look up the reference in the description...she referred to "cosplay".

Howdy!

I'm w/ you, Taria. That room is gross. From the cheap ugly paneling to the ick on the floor: gross. Then she starts uncovering all those old patterns stuffed under the old fabric and I'm thinking: silverfish, welcome home! Spools of thread get old, too. Looks like an allergy attack waiting to happen.

Nope, just wouldn't have that kind of mess in my house..in my life.

Ragmop/Sandy--not the least bit envious of that kind of stuff (p.s. no offense to anyone w/ paneled walls; if I can't rip it down it gets painted)

I recognized two of the machines, which I happen to have the same of; one is a Husqvarna Viking 6570, the other a Singer 401. Both top of the line in their time.

I'd love to have a go at that room; bet there are some real treasurers hidden and burried in there.

Makes me feel pretty darn good about my sewing space :)

Almost looks like a sweatshop LOL

I would love to have a go at that room!

I wouldn't want it in my house but I would love a chance to inherit that kind of stuff! The sewing machines look of the same vintage mine is so I could use those and I do some garment sewing and some curtains and some upholstery too and OH would I love to have the old polyester stuff. I want to make a quilt for my camper out of that stuff. Heavy and warm and durable!

I just am the kind of person that loves to dig around in old stuff and find treasures and history.

KK - email me off list about the poly and tell me what colors. (Or better yet, drive down here, and we'll have a meet up!!) I made a poly quilt like that, and you're right, heavy & durable. And it wasn't all that hard to work with. There might be a pic at my webshots, can't remember, but it's red/black/white.
