indigo fabric wanted?

Hi, I'm a lurker but have a request, please. I'm in search of the main indigo shirting fabric by Marcus Bros. a few years ago, used in the quilt Washed Indigo. The fabric was designed by Judie Rothermel. I saw the kit at my LQS on Friday. They had the kit which only has about a yard in it, I need about 3 yards. I wish I'd had drawn a sketch of it cause the pics I find on the net of the kit don't show enough detail for a good search. I've emailed a few shops with no luck. If you have any idea how I could find a pic of it, that would help too. Unfortunately this LQS is 1 hour away and I don't get there often, or I'd go back with me digital camera. Thanks for any help Kathy

Unfortunately without a description it's impossible to know which fabric you're looking for. Judie Rothermal designed an entire line of indigos for Marcus Brothers. A search on

using 'Marcus indigo' (without quotes) brings up 98 items from multiple shops. Perhaps you can find it there. If you could describe the fabric it would make searching easier. :o)

Well, yes, the fabric is a dark blue indigo shirting with a very small random design. I'll try to find the pic of the quilt to send but as I said the fabric isn't easily seen on the net. Thanks for your help. I've tried repro and I will send Marcus as email, yesterday the link wouldn't work. Thanks, Kathy

Here's the biggest pic I can find on the net. The fabric is the mani fabric in the quilt. There's just a ph # on the Marcus site, no email

If you ask the LQS to read the selvedge, you might be able to get the specific name and then have more luck googling. I'm trying to hunt for you, but you're right - it's hard to see the detail in the photo!

If you can't find the exact same fabric, look for something similar and buy

3 yards. Or maybe 4, just to be on the safe side. Roberta in D

None yet. That is the beauty of not shopping with a credit card. I have to decide, print out the order, and go to the post office and get a money order. (swore off checks for mail order ages ago, not worth the hassle IMO) Makes a body get serious about what they are getting and helps avoid overspending. I can pretty much garauntee that some of those are coming home though!
