Just a funny

I was just doing a simple red strawberries on yellow blocks crib quilt. Thought they looked like Aunt Betty Sue's tablecloth and decided the middle block needed a smile. Appliquéd the smile. It's a great smile, her dentist would be proud. Discovered that the border of the quilt top had flipped under and was FIRMLY satin-stitched to the smile appliqué. Cut the bitten bit of the border loose. It looked like Jaws had taken a mouthful. This really wasn't a problem. I had plenty of border fabric left and it was easy to replace but just then, Mr. Esther came by to see how things were going. I held up the strawberry quilt with the jagged chomp taken out of the border and said, "Do you think anybody will notice?" Dear man. He says life with a quilter is never boring. Polly

Oh Polly, the quilt probably just looks like one of your alligators wandered into the house and HAD to take a bite! Barbara in HOT SC

I now have the newest winner of "Best Quilt Making Stories Ever" and I think this one might be hard to beat.

LOL!

Sadly, I've done the same thing with borders before.

I don't remember who but there was a quilter here once upon a time who admitted to quilting the clothes she was wearing and her quilt to the arm of her chair. Try that! Polly
