I have a new website

nope not spam nor a hoax (for people who don't know or can't remember me as i've barely spoken lately LOL)

but i have bitten the bullet and started a website with my name as the domain name (well everything else i tried was already taken ) this will mean that if all goes well the next myetery will be online and not just on the yahoo group i have as i was getting *so* tired of the limited bandwidth i had.

new site:

formatting link

it's only a few pages so far but a quilt isn't always made in a day and nor is a website.

comments would be appriciated though! (the email addy on the site may not work yet but i think all the links do)

It is a very nice home page Jessamy.

I too have my own domain, my son bought it for me when he came home from sea on Thursday. He just transferred my pages across until I can make new ones.

Good luck to you in completing it. Shirley

Two Christmases ago DS gave us both Websites and a book 'Creating Web Pages for Dummies'. I am worse than a Dummie as mine is still as received! DH played with his at the beginning, but then Dummified too. Perhaps one day........

So congratulations, brilliantly done. I've bookmarked it so will 'watch this space'.

It is looking good Jessamy........ ..... BUT I am totally shattered

I love looking at Tradewinds and have saved a picture of it in my 'oneday' folder, as in 'oneday' when I am really good I will be able to work out how it is done and be able to do those curved seams.

Now you tell me that they aren't curved !!!!!!!

I am so disillusioned

Jessamy, Love the new website. I just signed up in Yahoo so I could get your July

4th mystery instructions. Then I realized that I had signed up last year under a different user name. After I finally figured out how to check my messages, I found all 750+!!! Hope no one expected an answer from me. So now I have two accounts which I really don't want...I find Yahoo just confusing and hard to use. Guess I'll try to figure out how to delete them now.

Leslie, if you want to make your own website, it can be as simple as downloading a free version of Netscape. It has a module in it called "Composer", and that lets you put together a web page without using a bunch of HTML stuff. It's pretty straightforward -- if you want to insert a picture, you click on "image", navigate to where you have the image stored on your computer, and voilà! Done! Typing puts your text where you want it.

I've been using that method ever since I first had a website some years ago. I keep telling myself that one of these days I'll update my site with frames so that navigation is easier, but I never get around to it.

Know what? we don't know the diff.all that matters is that we get to see your quilts........

There now stop worrying about navigation ease, I don't recollect anyone no here complaining about it :)

Fret not, Dee. Tradewinds is curved in 3D. 1 sq and 4 rectangles per block. easy peasy if ya dont mind a bit of hand sewing. jeanne

Thanks, Butterfly. And all of my "creations" (fancy word for some "regular" quilts! ) are made to be touched. Well, maybe not by a DGS who's just finished painting his cupcake with chocolate frosting, but just about anyone else. LOL!

Wow, what a great start - it's lovely, bright, pleasing to the eye and already bookmarked. Congratulations, wishing you continued success.

I don't mind hand sewing Jeanne, it's the working out how the pattern is put together that I can find *really* challenging

Thanks Shirley!

in some ways it's easier than i expected in others it's harder as i'm used to a different programme that works more like windows. Good luck with yours!

Thanks Jeanne >:D:D<

i take it that you saw the gallery you deserve the recognition for the idea we worked out together! I'm glad you like the colours - i decided that lime was a bit OTT so toned it down a tad. sadly google hasn't noticed it yet however thanks to a nice coupon for the google ads i can place my very own advert on google ads - i know my patterns are good but to advertise about a free mystery seems a tad much really LOLOLOL but then what the hey.. i may even go and use the coupon see if it gets me more traffic LOL
