Fraud and Theft on a closed Homestead.com website domain

Apr 08, 2006 4 Replies

I found out today that someone else opened my Homestead account, and now I owe $120 for an account I closed years ago. This same person is hyperlinking and added their own text that is very adult in content across the web. This text is supposed to be filtered, however, because they typed all the words together, the words aren't recognized as offensive or adult. This same person has added the closed domain name with Homestead.com on several search engines on the web. And the web archives show about 4,000 pages that have been stored with them from the disabled pages on Homestead.com. Why would anyone want to add a disabled webpage (that was cleaned out and closed in 2001) to a search engine? If anyone has ever had this happen, please reply back. This person is really low and must not have a life. D.

P.S. Homestead.com and Google claim they can't do anything because the site is disabled and the hyperlink doesn't show an error 404 message? Even though the very adult language is there on the search engines?! I think deleting the website would be the thing to do, however, Homestead.com won't delete it, they will only disable it, which still performs a crawl on a search.

Oh, my God. That sucks!! Is there ahnything we can do to help you out somehow?

Hi Kandice: That would be great if I could get some support. The more people that stand behind me may help me to fix this mess. This has been going on twice now. It happened last year, and the person that did this was told to remove the obscenties, and then Homestead.com MERELY DISABLED some pages, so it's still there to link to elsewhere. And this cute page is directed to me because this person is getting away with this sabotage:

This page is one that's still open, how can that be, it was a closed website, and DISABLED??? Yeah, right... Some sales guy there said it was their page. Can't he read HTML source code (clicking VIEW SOURCE on top menu bar). It was created by the person who sabotaged my closed website (closed 2001). Files were updated in 2003 and 2004 on that closed website by that thief and then they stored the pages in the webarchive on the net. I have an idea as to who may have done this. They basically say because I don't own a current account ($$$ MONEY), and they MERELY DISABLED that page, they don't have to do anything else. I think they can, they just DON"T WANT TO. I would love to get as many people that will be willing to support me. Large numbers can spread the word like wildfire. Not to mention it can lose them some business:) I think the guy who told me about the $120 made a mistake. He wasn't suppose to say their was a balance, which meant there was TAMPERING, SABOTAGE and THEFT. Makes Homestead.com look bad if they can't stop people from HACKING into their site. That is why they are IGNORING THIS !!! Sweep it under the rug!!! I would like to get as many people to send an email and sign a petition against this behavior. That would be such a huge help, and may get some resolution for this obvious NEGLECT on their part. Thank you, D.Jean

Jeez - that's scary! I'd be happy to sign a petition - feel free to email me any info. seeberk@NOSPAMcomcastdotnet.

remove the nospam and replace the dot with a . :)

Thank you Kandice. I really appreciate your support about this situation. I have gotten nowhere with HOMESTEAD.COM. I contacted their abuse department by emails, spoke to a few people on the phone, and they even agreed it was ABUSE, SABOTAGE, THEFT, which would also mean IDENTITY THEFT. Yet, they won't delete the SITE?

I am forced to come up with my own solution. I am going to spread the word, as I stated by phone, about their NEGLECT to remove my SITE in it's entirety. If you want to paste this new page below anywhere as a warning about this, in any crafting/beading group or parent group you can think of, please do!

I may want to trim this page down now that I have come to realize they STINK as an Internet Provider (IP) and that they don't intend on doing anything about this THEFT. They won't protect closed accounts, children, and even if I reopen my account, they won't allow me to DELETE THE SITE !!!

Below are links to a new page regarding the STOLEN Homestead.com account. The links below are on my TRUSTED IP. I plan on making more pages to force a crawl on the web to minimize the damage they are supporting with this hacker:

INFO regarding the HOMESTEAD.COM sabotaged pages: acjewels.homestead.com AND acjewels.homestead.com/acjewels.html (CLOSED in 2001)! INFO PAGE on my current domain:

There is also a link off the main page on my domain: acjewels.com OR

Don't get stuck with an IP like them! You will regret it! Thank you! D.Jean
