just a minor happy dance

I am almost done piecing all the little blocks for the state fair quilt. I know, not as good as actually finishing the quilt, but still, it's progress for me!!

I have been hit with a strong "nesting urge" and feel the need to build things - hard labor with power tools - so I have been a bit distracted from my sewing. Last night, I don't think I did more than 2 blocks (final stage of putting the rows together to form the complete block) and then I had to build....I put together a solid pine storage chest that Mother had left for me. DH had the brilliant idea that it could be used under my sewing table to hold the projects that I rotate working on...it fits! And I can put my sewing machine cover on top of it to give even more floor space around the table...wahoo!!!

On the non-quitling topic, I will be satisfying a small part of the nesting urge this weekend with the help of DH and DS - we will be going to Target to do a baby registry - I know, this isn't my first child, so what do I actually need. Well, mainly newborn stuff since I didn't keep that - passed on to others who had children after me. Surprised that DH said he would be responsibly for DS and that they would both come (I have given them leeway to go play in Home Depot if they get too bored ).

Next month, we get to buy the paint for the bedroom, and I will spread the painting out over the entire month if I have to. Not buying all the paint because I am not sure what I want except for the red on the walls...not garish or demonic, but a soft/antiquey red. The hard part comes between the dark blue and the light blue...not sure where I want to put what, so I will paint the walls and then think on it.

I suppose I should be taking deep breaths now that i know progress is being made, but along with choosing where each blue will go in the room, I need to figure out which color will be used on the dresser..gak!

OPkay, that's enough pregnant woman rambling for the day.

Oh, one more thing....I am using the scraps from the state fair quilt to make another quilt - wither for Rebekah or for a church school auction. Have also decided to use some of my lovely bright fabrics to make quilted toys for the little one..thinking of multi-colored cubes and how to fasten them to the crib bumper...

Larisa, burning brain cells too fast..lol
