Linen in quilt?

Jan 05, 2010 5 Replies

I've used bits of linen in wall quilts, which won't have to be washed. But do any of you use linen in regular quilts? I'm just curious. I love the way it looks and feels in hand, but I'm wondering if it would be a bad mistake to include some in a lap quilt.

Thanks Amy. That's what I thought would happen. I'm glad I asked.

I bought some very nice linen thinking it would be soft, absorbent and wonderful for baby receiving blankets. Wrong. I was never able to get the crisp washed out of it and it wrinkled if I only cast a glance in its direction. The MOB used it to cover something at the reception and I was happy to have it gone. I suppose it could be that linen had been chemically treated somehow; just never saw anything like it. Polly
