Went to another shop, same thing. Went again today, couldn't get it.... that's just not fair... Well, will have to try again tomorrow ..... Heidi from Germany

Unfortunalty they do not sell German magazines in my neck of the woods. I don't understand why. A couple of glasses of wine gets you to understand any language! lol - Congrads Jessamy.

I don't think so - at least not in German - I do know they translate it to Dutch but I don't know if they translate to English as well

LOL that is *so* true!

heck with a couple of G&T's in the neck one can have a laugh with a group of: kiwi's, Dutch, Saudi Arabian, French, Japanese and German people and translate for them all

ROFLOL - Oh this brings to mind a hilarious story from my youth!

I'd just finished year 12 (last year of high school) and my DSM and dad took me to London and Poland and a couple other countries to celebrate. We'd just flown into Warsaw for a couple days before heading out to the country to stay with rellies. Anyways, my spoken Polish was rusty at the best of times but I could understand it like a native (which I was, sorta). Anyway, we got to our rooms and ordered a few drinks and got into the swing of unpacking. A couple hours later mum knocked on my door and got worried when she coud hear voices yabbering away in Polish. I let her in, and she began demanding "Who do you have in here what have you been up to?".

She wouldn't believe me when I turned the TV back onto the soapie I'd been watching and talking back to. She said "Two days ago you couldn't even say how are you without stammering", I replied (pointing to some, er a few, empty glasses "Two days ago I hadn't had half a bottle of Wyborowa (powerful Polish Vodka)" and proceeded to tell her the plot of the story in Polish!

It was great - that stuff made conversing with the rellies a lot easier!

hehehe - see a bit of alcohol in the right circumstances does wonders ;-) (my translating experience was at the world scouting jamboree in 1995 - all the translating earnt me a bronze pip off the collar of the top Japanese guy there *and* a teary eyed farewell from both the Japanese and the Korean staff contingents)

Sounds like me! Some shops still have the last one out, but nobody has seen the new one. However, on the back of the last one, it does say the new one will appear "ab 12.10." Not "am". Roberta in D, not good at German but that bit seems clear -ish.

errr.... and the difference is?

I may have a pattern out in a German magazine but I don't do German that well - I have a translator ;-)

"Ab" means "starting from" and "am" is "on". Seems like a linguistic loophole to me. Like on TV, when they say a program will begin "gleich", it means "soon" but could be in a half hour or tomorrow. Roberta in D but not of D

Still haven't found it today :-(( I'll ask our local newspaper shop owner to keep it for me, when it arrives, so I don't have to go looking each day :-) Heidi from Germany
