Hahaha...I like the idea but I don't have the time today, but I think I will make a special cake for this weekend, I learned to make flowers and such for cakes, they don't do that verry much over here and the people that visit me are always stunned by this sort of cakes:))
Been there..done that, didn't get the t-shirt......... My hubby always say, go and buy something yourself, I don't know what you like.....so every year I maxout his creditcard:))
That's the only time I got a present just for me (not on mothersday but when my daughter was born), a gold chain with a pearl pendant.....my mother send him to the shop.......:))
I don't get anything on mothersday, I'm not his mother he says:) But on the other hand, he makes everything I need for me or my daughter or my pets, he made handles in de toilet and the bathroom and besides the bed so I can get up up with no problems by myself and so on.......
So I buy presents for my birthday, xmas, mothersday, weddingday and every other day I need a present.......:)))
Kind of. The 10th is my youngest's birthday. We have a family tradition on birthdays of covering a cheap pre-made sponge cake with buttercream icing, then letting the kids decorate it with all kids of sweeties, M&Ms, chocolate buttons etc. What you get is a solid lump of sugar, cholesterol, e-numbers, and the odd bit of snot if one of the kids stopped to pick their nose whilst working. So of course I never eat it but it has to be done anyway.
I don't think Wilton would approve of the end result. It's certainly not going to win any cake decorating prizes. But the kids wouldn't let a birthday go by without doing it. There's a picture here:
that's true - people were amazed by my wedding cake - I did it myself using ready to roll icing sent to me from the UK by friends as I couldn't find anything locally - here it's all 2 inch thick layers if whipped cream, nuts round the sides and a few bits of chocolate on top
when my sons were born I was almost ignored- he came in with balloons and picked up whichever DS it was and spent the whole visiting time communicating with his son. we won't go into the rest but needless to say it didn't improve and he is now my ex.
Now I can help you there if you want to make a real cak, there is a shop in Rotterdam, if you don't live there no probs, they do have a online shop, I did my workshops there, you can find them here:
Yuck........my hub didn't want children, he was the oldest of 7 and seen enough baby's to last a life time, but he fell in love with our daughter at first sight and he turned out te be a loving father:)
Ow.sorry....missed that one:) Mine means well, he doesn't like to shop for woman things.......if I need something else he is the first one to get it for me.
I was making a little korset for my DD and I had trouble to snip the metal strips for support, next day he gave me a present and it was a little metalcutter that did the job in a flash of an eye:)
I don't get flowers but I do get a lot of hardware:))
