I bought a Used Alco sewing machine the model is 2300 would anyone know how good this brand is and will it be good for quilting with?

Can you send me pixs of it--I might be able to help you --show where the threads 'might' go thru (full frontal, and whole machine showing needle, and top) and I'll try to jog the memory of how I threaded mine.
