Oak Leaves

I am in the process of making a few place mats using the American Quilter's Society free Oak Leaf pattern, which can be found at:

Oops, I said that the blocks are done. Actually, they are not quite done, because the appliques have only been fused to the background. I still need to stitch around the leaves, which I plan to do with a buttonhole stitch by machine.

I love those colors too. When I do a red, white and blue quilt, I never resist the temptation to ease in just a little red/orange and a dash of magenta. Makes me smile. Polly
