Sadly Monday morning we recieved word that a friend of ours who was not quite five months pregnant was in the hospital. One of her ovaries had ruptured. They knew there was a problem, but there was nothing safe they could do about it until after the baby was born. So she was looking at much pain, a long hospital stay, complete bedrest, and a lot of transfusions because there was internal bleeding that was not stopping. Then late that night the placenta seperated. She had lost too much blood for the doctor to be willing to risk a c-section, especially that prematurely. As soon as the fetal heart beat stopped, they induced labor, which lasted 12 hours. Alexander was officially stillborn at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon.
His 2 year old twin siblings are very very confused, his parents are devastated.
Hug them in your hearts.
