OT Another Bitty Angel

Sadly Monday morning we recieved word that a friend of ours who was not quite five months pregnant was in the hospital. One of her ovaries had ruptured. They knew there was a problem, but there was nothing safe they could do about it until after the baby was born. So she was looking at much pain, a long hospital stay, complete bedrest, and a lot of transfusions because there was internal bleeding that was not stopping. Then late that night the placenta seperated. She had lost too much blood for the doctor to be willing to risk a c-section, especially that prematurely. As soon as the fetal heart beat stopped, they induced labor, which lasted 12 hours. Alexander was officially stillborn at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon.

His 2 year old twin siblings are very very confused, his parents are devastated.

Hug them in your hearts.

How awful for them all! I can't imagine the pain of going through labor for naught.

There are no easy rides in this life........just interludes of peace when we believe we're safe. Bless the little soul, but mostly bless Mom and Dad and the young ones.

Barbara: This sort of news is always distressing. I surely will keep the family in thoughts and prayers. I can understand that the twins would be confused. I think that sort of situation was exactly why my DM was one to say hold off on telling the kidlets about a future baby, until the time was very close. The younger the kid, the later the announcement. Some people thought she was a fuddy duddy about that but she had a good point. Anyhow, I hope someone can help the family cope. Maybe there is a support group. PAT in VA/USA
