We are having ant problems too. They are teeny, tiny wee little nothings that simply like to walk around in my kitchen. We only see them when we've had constant, day-after-day rain. They are not strong enough to lift the lid on the sugar canister and they are not smart enough to open zip bags but . . . they were foolhardy enough to venture onto the packing tape when I was boxing up some stuff for Jill's shelter project. We don't think she will mind. Polly

Borax powder [like 20 Mule Team] works real well also.

And lay down a line of cleanser powder like Comet or BonAmi. Works, too.

I used to have a huge ant problem. Living in South Florida, there is no 'off season' for bugs of any kind. Last year, I would have sworn my house was built on one huge ant pile. Considering where I live, it probably was. :)

I bought some ZEP concentrate at Home Depot, put it in a sprayer with water and sprayed the bottom 6 inches of the outside walls of my house. I did this

6 months ago and haven't seen a single ant, or indeed any bug, since.

I don't know how environmentally friendly it is, but I can tell you it didn't kill the grass.

It's like Harry Hill said, "It's only when you look at an ant through a magnifying glass on a sunny day that you realize how often they burst into flames."

Ew! My ants dislike cinnamon. Needs to be sprinkled where you don't want ants, as well as where the ants are, or they will certainly move someplace even more inconvenient! Roberta in D

It sounds like a 'live' version of the bursting bubbles game to me! jennellh (change the mail to news)

Now that explains my sometimes "fragrant" HairyButt Gang--- there's corn meal in their dog food! But they don't explode... thank heaven for small favors! :-/

Does this work for all different sized ants, not just teeny ones? We have meat ants (black, about 1/2 - 3/4" long) who constantly steal the meal worms from the finches. I'd love to be able to get rid of them!

ROFLOL - fair dinkum! You guys have passed this wretched problem on to me now!!! After almost a year with no ants, the horrid little things have started invading my home again. Looks like it's time for a new set of ant squares (these wonderful little white plastic things with "attract an ant" inside which kills em off quick smart)

Put Ant Sand on their tracks. They take it back to the nest and disappear. Ruth Sydney "Leigh Harris" wrote in message news:0RzTh.12694$ snipped-for-privacy@news-server.bigpond.net.au...
