OT: (but pertains to messages on RCTQ)

This morning as I was reading the group, I wanted to block a sender advertising something or another that I wasn't particularly interested in. I clicked on the appropriate choice to block future emails, but just before I confirmed I wanted that "person" blocked, I noted that I had actually chosen the wrong message and was about to block one of our regulars!

That made me think of Polly and Sunny. Polly, is it possible that you inadvertently blocked Sunny's posts from coming through and that's why you don't ever see them? There should be a way to check all your blocked senders, and if she's there, you can choose to unblock her. I don't know what email reader you use so can't help you as to how to go about that, but I'll bet if you can't figure it out, someone here will be able to help!

Just a thought, and I have my fingers crossed that it'll work.

Louise, How do you block a sender? I looked through various spots where it might reside and didn't find anything.

I use OE . It is at the top left in 'Message'. Drop down the menu & there it is about halfway up.

I'm getting smarter. Well, not much, but I am learning how to allow folks that my fierce walls won't send in. To block ( on whatever I use) you go up to message, junk e-mail, add to block sender. To allow ( this works sometimes) you go to tools, junk e-mail, safe senders, add (but you have to know the 'real' email address of the person who has mysteriously been black-listed), apply. Just now, mine won't allow nightmist or Sunny. . . but we're slowly working on it. I have Sunny's email address and probably NM's too. We shall overcome - or we'll find a detour. Things get goofy with my mail every Christmas season. I do think they leave the switchboard and let the elves run the place. Polly

Thanks Louise & Nana

I see that both of you are using your email programs to read messages. I generally log onto the net via Firefox and read my lists online. I have a great little add-on program that collects and opens all of them for me called Morning Coffee. I was thinking there might be a way to block the totally OT scam ones that sometimes show up through the list itself.

Thanks again! Diana - PA

..

Is 'morning coffee' free or paid software? I'm still fighting with Windows 7 and trying to get it NOT to dismiss my reminders!
