Last year I asked for advice about a child's sewing machine for my granddaughter, who was nine years old at the time. Several people recommended the Janome Sew-Mini, so that is what I bought. The machine was much nicer than I expected, and sews very well. My granddaughter has made several aprons, head scarves for her other grandmother, a very nice handbag and two dresses for her little sister, among other things. She is largely self-taught, as my daughter never learned to sew.but is learning now along with Ava. Now that I have retired we are having sewing lessons once a week after school. And I'm told Ava will be getting a nicer machine for Christmas. Thanks for all who steered me in the right direction on this one. Linda
