Sewing Machine Table

Can anyone give me a clue about how to put my sewing machine back into its table? I feel dumb dumb dumb. It belonged to my husband's grandmother. I removed it from the table a few months ago for the first time to be serviced. I finally got around to taking it in. I got it back today.

HOWEVER, now I can't recall how to lock the thing back into the drop shelf of the sewing table. I can't find any pins. I can't find any places where there were screws. In fact, I'm pretty sure there WEREN'T any screws.

Btw, Grandmother died several years ago. Can't ask her!

The sewing machine is a Singer Stylist 774 or 734 (apparently these models are about the same - one manual for both model numbers - no model number on the machine itself).

If anyone thinks they can give me a clue I'd appreciate it. I could even get a couple of digital photos together if needed!

Thanks, Tara

Well, doesn't sound like it. Mine doesn't have any type of rod. I'll just get the pics and put them online where people can check them out and maybe give me some hints.

Called the mother-in-law - she can't remember, either. In fact, she had so much trouble with her own that when she had it repaired she took to the guy - table and all!

I'm reaading this thread and wondering why some of the other quilters with old machines haven't ontributed. DUH -- I'm reading the

**needlework** newsgroup (I am NOT fond of doing this through Google!!!). So -- Tara -- if you haven't managed to solve the reassembly problem, try posting over at RCTQ, the **quilting** newsgroup. Some of those folks collect vintage Singer sewing machines and take them apart and put them back together all the time. There is bound to be someone who has your exact machine or one that is pretty close. CiaoMeow >^;;^<
