OT: Freezing Ragmops!

O M G - it really IS! We were just watching the news and Texas looks like it has been spit on by the Easterners! What gives?

And even here in Houston, it is freezing butt cold and sleeting!!!!!!

Like my teenager just said, "This is NOT Houston weather! We live here because we like WARM weather, if we wanted to freeze our butts off, we'd move to Colorado, at least it's prettier there!" LOL

Tina, looking for another pair of socks and a warmer blankie!

Why would a speedy quilter like yourself have a blankie? Shouldn't you be reaching for a quiltie? Ha ha!

yeah, you better duck and run Debra! LOL speedy quilter my arse!

Let's see, since I started quilting in September of last year, I've made

1 memory quilt for mom last Christmas 1 (yet unfinished but working as fast as I can) Bible Blocks quilt for grandma 1 HUG for Alison 1 Margaritaville for DH's friend (which he helped me baste yesterday and will be MQ'ed today/tomorrow)

nope, don't see any in there that I could be using today to defrost my now frozen toucas.........

I actually got in the closet yesterday and got out one ancient, well used, falling apart quilt that belonged to my mom's neighbor years ago. I used it to death but it is still warm, even if it looks like h e double toothpicks. I cuddled with it yesterday and last night and it will be my cuddly blanket on the couch while recuperating or doing the breathing machine.

At least until I can get my own put together!

Hugs, Tina

I didn't realize you were sick too. Fighting to breathe is horrible.

You've made more quilts than I have, and in half the time. You are very speedy compared to me. I'm slow as molasses with only one wall hanging and one not yet bound machine quilted lap quilt. Evidently I love the design process because I keep getting stuck designing and re-designing tops instead of actually sewing them.

I did make a lovely set of double sided curtains recently. They are double sided rather than lined because the tone on tone print I bought for the room wasn't going to work but the color rubbed off oddly when I washed it so it couldn't be used for quilting either. The end result is curtains that are awesome from the outside and the inside. The pale streaks that rubbed off the tone on tone fabric don't show when viewed from the outside, and the color compliments the other fabric that I used for the inside. They are almost black out curtains due to the color and thickness, and cold temps outside just don't get past them. They took 7 hours to make and it was worth every minute because I love them more every time I see them.
