OT Happy Birthday to ME!

I have had a Wonderful Birthday!!! Managed to go out for a late lunch with friends and really enjoy myself. Temperature here in Central FL was 77, and I wore shorts all day! Unfortunately we had bad thunderstorms this afternoon with lots of lightening, rain, and wind. After last weeks tornadoes, we really didn't need the wind today! Later, Barbara in Cemtral FL

It was pretty good. My regular weekly sit'n'sew went ahead as usual (NOTHING stops sit'n'sew!) and the girls decided to "surprise" me with by bringing lunch (usually every one just brings their own sandwich).

At the end of the day I was exhausted. I think we used every piece of cutlery and china in the house - twice! - and it took forever to clean up. But lunch was yummy!! I also got squished and carded and flowered and gifted too.

I had planned on letting the day just slide by as we will all be partying together on Friday night. Our sewers get together every three months for a FQC dinner (Fat Qtr Club). This time it is a party plan night at my house, so I have set a theme of pink and have - with magnificent help from Carole - collected some gorgeous flamingo souvenirs for everyone. Normally for a party plan night you have to beg/coerce your friends to come to make up the numbers, but after our "infamous" Black Cat Cocktail party (a Tupperware night on a Friday 13th) about 18 months ago I could have sold tickets for Friday night. There will be about 30 here (I think the demonstrator is a bit overwhelmed!) and I am still trying to figure out where everyone will sit lol. The demo is from The Body Shop - cosmetics and perfumes - and we all get a choice of a hand or a foot "treatment".

I found most of my flamingo stuff "over there" but at places that do not ship to OZ, so Carole has been my proxy post office (TVVVVVM) and thanks to her I can offer the winner of the best pink outfit on the night a prize of (drumroll please!!) a hot pink fake fur flamingo purse!!

My own outfit will comprise a pink shirt, an apron made from flamingo fabric (from Carole of course!), a hat embroidered with flamingoes and a feather boa that I plan to tack around the hat like clown hair. (Yes, I will be wearing other clothes too! this is just the pink part)

So my birthday celebrations wil continue then!

Thankyou Pat.

One of the ladies (who just celebrated her 50th Wedding Anniversary two weeks ago) has offered to give us all pole dancing lessons on the night. She used a cardboard roll from inside some fabric for her demo. roflmao Perhaps PAVFDC could provide the music!!

Sorry for the typing slip!

So POVFDC are all very young, huh? I do think you should share the eye candy around. But if you insist on keeping them all to yourself you are still most welcome. If you race out the door right now you might just make it in time to join the partying.
