Bad Service

I tried to use this online fabric business

have not had a good experience. Lovely website, lovely lines offabrics and some pretty unique. But I have not found the folks to bevery attentive or customer friendly. Just thougth I'd throw that out.I made an order online and now they can't tell me if my credit cardhas been or will be billed or whether I am "one of the ones who gotsome of that fabric" or not. Maybe it will arrive, maybe it won't. "We didn't have much of that to start with and only a few got some of that fabric and it's hard to say who did and who didn't," they say. And when I told them I really do want to know whether or not I will be receiving fabric some of these days from them, they sighed and told me that they will ahve to check with their accounting service to find that out, something that apparently is unpleasant or hard or at the very least not convenient.

I will not order from them again, even if they are the only source of a fabric I want.

They have that Satisfaction a 100% guaranteed emblem on their website, I would definitely be contacting someone in the higher ups, but it appears the shop is owned by three ladies and who knows which one is boss. Sorry you have had a bad experience, I hope it works out for you.

I just recently did business with a shop on line and was very dissatisfied and I wrote them and told them so, and things are much better now, but I did suggest that they tell their customers that there is about a 20 day turn around time between the ordering, shipping and receiving and that they shouldn't advertise something as one brand and send another brand. They were fixed to my satisfaction and I placed another order with them today.

Sunny, Unless this is fabric that you just can't live without, I would call the credit card company and have the transaction cancelled. Then call the BBB and report these folks. I would then follow up with a letter to the upper management of the company and report to them what has happened to you and what actions you have taken. You just might get some answers, some future discounts... if not interested in any future dealings with these clowns... you get some satisfaction.

How bizarre! I had a very bad shopping experience on Friday at a real live store! I wrote a letter as soon as I got home & thanks for reminding me, I'm going to mail it tomorrow. I wanted to call & get the name of the appropraite person. I'm going to do it tomorrow & you should as well! I've had enough of crappy service & employees who can't be bothered!

You know, the sad thing is that I just never, ever complain about service. I always work hard at giving people the benefit of the doubt. The rude service person probably was in pain or having a horrid day or just found out their significant other was cheating. The poor quality product was a fluke. Or even if not, buying it was a learning experience and I won't do it again. I try to just go on and not let it get to me. And I work hard at telling people that they've done a good job, earned my repeat business. I tell people about good service and good products and r efer like mad.

Anyway, I've cancelled the transaction. I've ordered the fabric from another source that it took me ages to find. It's Windham's Family Tree fabric series, the panel with the actual tree on it. I want it for a very, very specific project for an elderly family member. I'm going to buy a big hardcover Bible, cover it with a blue/floral from the same line of fabric, and make an inner liner of the family tree, filling in the circles with all the family names and putting computer generated fabric photos of some folks on as well. It is something that will mean a lot to him. It's not big, not terribly creative, but it's important to me and I wanted this fabric as soon as I saw it. Thing is, it's hard to find.

Ok, enough kevetching. What I want is on its way to me from a shop that has sent me two different confirmations, one on receipt of the order and one on billing, promising another when it's shipped. I like that.

Sunny I agree with you, people can always have a bad day and what gets me is when they say don't bring your problems to work, well I find it impossible to spit them out at the back door on my way out and not take things with me and I think most folks are that way. Of course I don't work anymore due to a disability but still, it is almost impossible to not let your personal life interfere with your professional life. I try not to complain but when service gets really bad I do. I guess I take after my father on that, we have more bad accounts in our basement because he would let folks charge even though they hadn't paid their previous bill, when he owned the furniture store. I said he is probably the only man in history that has extended credit to the same person 3 times and all 3 times they took out bankruptcy but he always said, well maybe they have changed. How they did as well in life as they did I don't know but they did have the most popular furniture store in town. He is still that way only thing is now I have to really watch him because people will take advantage of a person they know has a memory problem. Our renter caught me gone one day and came over and borrowed $1200 from dad, he had no intentions of paying it back and was shocked when he found out dad had remembered to tell me. Of course I haven't seen the first dime of it yet either, and am not holding my breath until it is paid back, but if it isn't in the next month I will be asking him to move.
