best online photo service

Can you all tell me the best online service is for developing and storing pics. I installed Vista on my laptop, big mistake, have had plenty of problems. Am going to reset comp back to factory setting and will lose everything. TIA, Hilda

Oh no! Not Vista! LOL DH had to install Vista on his work laptop...well, actually had to install it 3 times. I've started using Snapfish to develop prints, as it's much cheaper than Wal Mart. I think you can store photos there, but I'm not sure. A lot of members here on RCS use Webshots for their LOs, so that could be an option for photo storage. I use Yahoo photos, but DH just let me know the other night that Yahoo photos is going over to Flickr.

I use webshots to be able to share my creations with all my web friends. And I use Snapfish to print my pictures. Snapfish is great. When we returned from Disney I had over 1500 digital prints and it cost me a lot less then when it would have at Walmart. If you prepay for your pictures ahead of time its even cheaper and your credits don't ever expire. I still have 200 credits from over a year ago. Speaking of which I should go see what pictures I want to print. LOL!

Here awhile back Consumer Reports had a article an Snapfish was top rated. Yahoo was 3rd I think, but forget who was second.

I happen to love Shutterfly. Their photobooks are simply outstanding, and I've tried a lot of the services. All my orders from them have come quickly. The photobooks I ordered the first week of December were at my house in 5 days, including the weekend. I would recommend them highly. Kathy

Hilda, I know you are asking about sites specific to developing, but I wanted to add my .02. I don't really use online services for developing, but I do use Yahoo to share pictures. When I first started, I thought it was easy and I loved it. A few months back, Yahoo made some changes. I find it so frustrating now. I have a technical background, yet I get frustrated with creating an album. So many times I've uploaded pictures to the wrong album because the setting was wrong. I set the album as public yet all the pictures default to private. Unless you remember to go back to all your pictures to change the settings to public, no one can see them.

I'm managing, but it is NOT as easy as it once was. Last night I had

28 files to upload and share with a friend. It took me over an hour. That that was not wait time associated with uploading, that was purely configuration work. I think that is unacceptable.

I'm considering removing the older albums because I feel that it has become so disorganized. Perhaps delete them all and start over. But that would take 2-3 hrs of time that I don't have! LOL
