snipped-for-privacy@KayneyNOSPAMQuilting.com (Kathy=A0Applebaum) wrote I have to confess, I just LOVE the beer commercial where the guy want to pick up the stranger carrying the axe because the stranger also has beer. I've known a few guys who would have done the same. :)

If they are big little buggers that show up in no costume demanding goodies, they must do a song and dance or some kind of trick or other entertaining show to get their goodies. They don't much like coming to my house anymore.

All of them made DH and me chuckle, but this was by far the best to us. I'm from MD, and have actually been to the area in the movies....however, I have a very low tolerance for scary things, so when we watched the movie, I completely freaked out. This is still a movie that I will only watch during bright sunlit days...lol.

Now, on a related note, I used to work in Ellicott City.....they actually had a working coven there...friends decided they wanted to investigate one night...drove towards the house, and out of nowhere, headlights from at least 3 tractor-trailors were shining on the car. We spun out of there rather quickly and went to another location where we set up with binoculars and such to try and see what was going on. No radio or anything going with us, only 1 flashlight.....everything was fine until I heard a radio playing somewhere behind us....we didn't go back for a LOOOONG time!

There was a teacher in my neighbor hood growing up that made everyone come in and answer a question about your costume, do a trick, reciting a nursery rhyme, roaring like a lion if you were a small child dressed up as a lion, or some other such thing before you got your treat.

LOL!!! We have one from when we had huge rabbit problems at our other place. Worked great to keep them out of my roses. DH was thinking about getting it back out last week when the kids had their pumpkins stolen. Only problems are 1-hose may freeze although it hasn't been too bad this year and

2-someone has to remember to turn it off in the morning so the mailman doesn't end up with a surprise!!
