Having fun, dressing up, trick-or-treating, going to the corn maze, pranks, carving jack-o-lanterns, and getting scared!!!! I don't know, we do it to have fun, it is a great tradition! It goes back to the Celts, and the Catholics have All Saints Day, and I believe trick or treating goes back to to the Europeans and their Souling and Mouring.

I bought the Jeff Gordon outfit for him last christmas. I saw it at autozone and thought that he would atleast use the helmet for riding his bike and rollerblading. Little did I know that he was going to dress up like that for halloween. He wanted me to make a 24 car costume for the dog, since I made the 24 car pinata for his birthday. I could not do it though.
DH was telling me a story today about one year when he was a kid. His dad used to be a minister, and he thought that halloween was pagan and that the kids should give candy instead of begging for it. So they got dressed up, and instead of trick or treating and getting candy when the people opened the door, they gave the people a bag of candy. I could not stop laughing for a good 15 minutes. All I could think of was how confused the people opening the doors were when two adorable little kids were giving them candy. I am still laughing at that one. His mom put a stop to that the following year, but man that was sooooooo funny thinking about it, and not having to go through it. He even laughs about it now though.
Thank you all. I am just trying to figure out a title for that page that I will definately be doing.
A Dog-gone Scary Night Halloween is going to the dogs
Loved the pictures of all four of your sweethearts. I don't think my 80 pound chocolate lab would let me do that to her. Thanks for sharing!

Your dogs are so cute in their costumes. I tried to dress up my cat once.she didn't like it at all. She got in a panic and ran under the bed. :) Connie K

Too cute Mel:>)
Very cute thanks for sharing. When I was little my mom used to dress up the dog. The kids wanted me to make bat wings for our dog this year. Course they waited until 2 hours before we needed to be any where to ask. Didn't occur to me to dress up the dog. Next year I'm definitely going to do it!
