OT It's been a really good day!

Ok, this may sound a bit ridiculous to some but I think those that know my story may appreciate this. I bought fabric to make two wedding quilts today and I think I made some good choices. We leave for Cape Hatteras next Saturday and these wedding quilts are on the top of the list. I also bought fabric to make two sun dresses for my DD and she absolutely went nuts over my fabric choices (she's really fussy so "going nuts" is a really good thing). My sweet little grandson is finally fully potty trained - some moms may be able to relate. He's been #1 trained for quite a while, but finally conquered the #2 training. He now shows off his "big boy" underwear! Oh, I could just cry! But, the best is - are you ready? - my DD has met the greatest guy in the world! He is the best! He loves her, he loves my little guy and he is the guy I would never have thought she would pick. He is clean shaven, short hair, no tats, no piercing, NOT VEGETARIAN, he hunts, he fishes, he is so polite (he gets up from his chair when I enter a room!). He is everything she never knew she wanted! Things are looking good for the two of them. It's been a long haul for all of us so if you think I am gushing, I am. It's been a good day, a good week, a good month! We're hearing faint wedding bells off in the distance..........

Hurray, hurray, hurray. A good day all the way around.

Nothing that monumental here, but I did work on my granddaughter's Big Girl quilt and put some plants in the ground. It's the little things that matter. Very satisfying, but I bet I'm going to be sore in the morning!

How wonderful! I don't understand why so many young women today tolerate men who don't treat them well. I'm glad your daughter finally gave a good guy a chance... and learned how wonderful it is to have a guy who puts you first... and treats you like a lady.

Sounds like a great day all the way around!

Well, Alice. I was so busy conquering foundation piecing or die trying that I missed your joyful news. So very happy for you. Our DD#2 was the tender age of 42 before she found the right fellow. How wonderful. Celebrating with you. Polly

This is just great news, Alice. Hopefully all will work out with this special guy; but, f it doesn't, your DD has been made aware of 'the other end of the spectrum as far as the kind of chap she wants/might want' - and that's very valuable too. . In message , AliceW writes
