OT - Katrina

Polly and all others in the storms way - you're in our thoughts! It certainly looks terrible, hopefully you're on high ground, with a good roof and are well anchored!

Anxiously looking for new from y'all.

I've found CNN on our TV and have been popping into the sitting room to have a look every hour or so all day. It looks dreadful, and some of the badly hit places must be close to Polly. I'm pretty sure they said that the power was down in the whole area, and might be out for days; so we may not hear for ages. Kate, on the other side of Mississippi, is also in danger. I wonder if she had to evacuate? I'll be glad to hear from her, too, when it is all over. . In message , Bonnie NJ writes

One of my RCTN friends lives right IN New Orleans, not too far from The River and The French Quarter (less than a mile probably). She and her DH had no plans on evacuating so they probably are in the Superdome, or what's left of it :-(. I would like to ask everyone to keep them in mind when you are thinking good stuff for Polly, Kate, the rest of our members and everyone else who is in the path of this fierce storm. Weather is getting a bit tenuous around here. We are in South Forsyth County, just a few miles north of the border with North Forsyth County. There is a spin-off tornado wending it's way across North Forsyth County as I write this. Looks as if it is well east of us. If not, the kitties, DH and I will be hunkered down beneath the stairs in the walk out basement! CiaoMeow >^;;^<
