OT: last nose update

The splint came off tonight before dinner. Honestly, I just couldn't stand looking at my tiny one with that thing on her face. We had originally planned to take it off tomorrow afternoon, so I don't see where a few hours makes the difference.

She looks just like she did before her accident with a little bit of bruising and minor swelling. Honestly, if it wasn't for the little bump on the left side (and the bruising and swelling) I don't think anyone would ever know that she had broken her nose. We follow up with the doctor on Tuesday (barring another massive dumping of snow) and he will let us know when she can return to boxing and regular bouncy, jumpy activities.

Yay!!

I know I'm way behind the times, but I would be so afraid to let my little girl box. Especially after a nose-breaking episode. You are very brave and you daughter will be much stronger for it. Congrats on having the nose back. I broke my nose when I was in college. Just a little accident that I won't ever tell anyone the details. Suffice it to say I had huge black eyes for weeks. The really cool thing is that my nose was better shaped AFTER the break than before. But I can still feel the place where the break was -- a bit of a lump under the skin. And I have permanently plugged sinuses. Noses -- why on earth weren't they designed stronger being as how that's what we lead with?

That great news Larisa., to have a crooked nose for ever would have been very unkind for your beautiful little one.

Yay!

I reckon it's all those growth hormones kids have kicking about their systems: they always heal so well!
